"Where to begin...We arrived after dark and were extremely pleased with the condo.  It has all new interiors and is beautifully done-design and comfort, and super clean.  The kitchen, besides having beautiful cabinetry and counter tops, was very well stocked with pots, pans, cookie sheets, pie pans, dishes and glassware.  We enjoyed the tile floors throughout the condo and carpet in the bedrooms.  When we woke up in the morning, we were blown away by the view.  It was stunning from sunrise until sunset.  We enjoyed skiing at June and hiking around the lake.  As mentioned in the description, the unit is an end unit, which feels more lake a home than a condo.  There are stairs to access the condo, but once inside, there are no stairs, which is wonderful .  We can't wait to go back, this is an exceptional condo."

The story begins in the 1950’s when Kristin’s family first started to vacation regularly in the June Lake Loop.  For many years the family stayed at the Vista Motel which today is called The Gull Lake Lodge. The Beckman family always stayed in the end unit nearest to Gull Lake Marina.  Many dinners were made in the kitchen of what is now called the Lundy unit of The Gull Lake Lodge.  In that tiny kitchen, dinners were carefully prepared for as many as 12 people.  This tradition continued for years, in fact, decades.  The trips to June Lake continued as the Beckman children Kristin, Tom, and John all grew up and one by one were married.  Then something changed.

In 1982 Interlaken was completed and as the family would fish at Gull Lake we would look up as Interlaken was being built and completed.  It was not long until The Gull Lake Lodge was abandoned for multiple, yearly vacations staying in various units at Interlaken.  Mostly those owned by Mrs. Tubbs, as Marion Beckman our matriarch liked Mrs. Tubbs units, and after all, Marion always made the reservation.

Flash forward again some 30 years and it had become apparent  that the Beckman’s oldest Kristin, her husband Don DeVincenzi and their children Mark and Caroline had grown fonder and fonder of the Eastern Sierra.  Don and Kristin had spoken for years of owning an Interlaken unit.  Finally in the spring of 2016, after years of thinking about ownership at Interlaken, the stars were right and financial conditions allowed the DeVincenzis to consider buying an Interlaken unit of their own.   With the expert help of real estate agent Heidi Vetter the DeVincenzis considered the options.  At Heidi’s advice we made offers on units that were not even for sale.  Ultimately we made an offer on unit 36 owned at the time by Don Qualls.  Don Qualls and his wife Lourdes had lovingly remodeled unit 36 to an extent no unit at Interlaken had ever seen.  Circumstances became right for the Qualls family to sell, and Don D and Kristin became the new and present owner of unit 36, thanks to the unending persistence of Heidi Vetter.

Now a new era begins for Kristin and Don and their family as unit 36 now becomes a second home for the DeVincenzis  and  their family, as well a rental opportunity for those booking with June Lake Premier Reservations.  We hope those of you who rent our home enjoy the views and amenities of unit 36 as well the spectacular scenery and outdoor activities the entire Eastern Sierra provide for all of us. We trust that Heidi Vetter and Pam Mowat of JLPR will take very good care that your stay is exceptional.
